Fluorescent

These bulbs offer a warmer, brighter, and harsher light. They cannot be dimmed; however, since they already use their own power reduction components, they are more efficient than halogen and incandescent bulbs. Fluorescent bulbs also offer more light, and this makes them ideal for larger areas such as basements and hallways.

Compact fluorescent bulbs

They last ten times longer than incandescent lights and consume only a quarter of the energy. Unlike fluorescent lights, they are quiet and switch on instantly. The only problem is that they contain a small amount of mercury inside and because of this, extra care must be taken to prevent breakage.

LED

They are by far the most energy efficient light bulbs. They also have a very long lifespan. Unfortunately, LED produce only directional light, which means they cannot be used everywhere. Additionally, they are more expensive than the rest.
